The College Board is rolling out a new digital SAT, which will be available to all students starting in spring 2024. The digital SAT is designed to be more flexible and accessible than the current paper-and-pencil test, and it will offer a number of new features and benefits to students.
The digital SAT scores are reported on a scale of 200 to 800 for each section, Reading & Writing and Math. The total SAT score is calculated by adding the two section scores together.
The Digital SAT is shorter, taking 2 hours and 14 minutes to complete instead of 3 hours.
The Digital SAT is divided into two sections: Reading and Writing and Math. Students can take the sections in either order, and they can take breaks between sections.
The Digital SAT features a number of interactive question types that are not possible on the paper-and-pencil test. For example, students can drag and drop answers, highlight text, and use a graphing calculator.
